Our principal, Mr. Ben Zhou, served as lead structural engineer for analysis and design of this precast hangar structure. He also provided construction engineering support for erection sequence, shoring and shoring removal.
Clear span: 85 meters
Length of hangar: 52.4 meters
Ceiling height at crown: 23 meters
Structural design features precast arch segments using folded plates resulting 55% savings in concrete and 40% savings in rebar in comparison with conventional design using cast‐in‐situ concrete. Fabrication and erection of the entire precast roof arch segments took only 4 months. Construction was completed in 2009.
